NAACP Sues Texas Over Gerrymandered Maps

BREAKING NEWS

The NAACP is suing Texas over a new electoral map that strips Black voters of their political power.

Filed with the Lawyer’s Committee, our lawsuit accuses Texas of racially motivated gerrymandering to silence Black communities ahead of next year’s midterms.

“The state’s intent here is to reduce the members of Congress who represent Black communities, and that, in and of itself, is unconstitutional.” — Derrick Johnson, NAACP President & CEO
